Vets under corporate ownership went from 8% in 2014 to 30% by 2024, with 24/7 emergency vets going to 75% under corporate ownership.

Large vet groups charge almost 20% more compared to independent practices.

That's because private equity has also bought the drugs and supplies that these practices use, on top of using bait-and-switch language and over-prescribing unnecessary meds.

While the corporate ownership number is around 30%, when you factor in partial ownership, over 60% of vets are owned in whole or in part by just six different conglomerates.

One pet owner named Francis Wong made a website where you can literally track all vets that are owned by private equity on a map.
