Grass terms of use

What Grass is

Grass is a map of local businesses with our best understanding of who owns them: independent, part of a chain, or bought by a private equity firm. That understanding comes from public data and human research. It can be out of date or wrong. Treat it as a starting point, not a verdict, and tell us when you know better.

Membership

Membership is a yearly, auto-renewing subscription at a price you choose from the options shown. It funds the ownership research behind the map and gives members early access to recommendations as we build them. Recommendations are not finished yet, and we say so on the paywall. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms. Cancel any time from your store account; the membership runs to the end of the paid period.

Reports

When you file a report you are telling us something you believe to be true. Please include a source when you have one. We may use reports to correct the map and may keep them as the record of why a listing changed. Do not include personal information about other people.

Acceptable use

Do not use Grass to harass business owners or their staff, scrape the app, or misrepresent a listing. We can suspend access for abuse.

Liability

Grass is provided as is. Cadre is not liable for decisions made on the basis of the map or for losses arising from errors in it. Where the law does not allow that limit, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the past twelve months.
